What’s next in nextReality? – Frank Steinicke (UNI Hamburg)

In my talk, I will show how XR technology has evolved from its beginnings and will discuss how the new area of XR evolve including technologies such as robotics, the internet of things, and artificial intelligence.

Frank Steinicke ist Professor für Mensch-Computer-Interaktion am Fachbereich für Informatik der Universität Hamburg und arbeitet seit Über 25 Jahren im Bereich der immersive interaktiven Umgebungen.

„VR – A new generation of media entertainment“- Maria Herholdt Engermann (MANND)

This session will focus on cinematic location-based VR, and how to create experiences that goes beyond the head mount. Based on MANNDs own experience with their two VR projects: Separate Silences and X-Ray Fashion, Maria will present their perspective of what’s next in VR storytelling and how VR can evolve into a new media entertainment format.

Maria has a background within film and is the co-founder, alongside Signe Ungermand, of MANND, a Danish production house specializing in location-based VR experiences.

Businessmodelle für VR-Projekte – Tim B. Frank (VirtualX)

Tim hat 2008 seinen Hochschulabschluss im Bereich Medienwissenschaften absolviert und hat seither als Kameramann und Filmproduzent gearbeitet. 2014 hat er mit der Produktion von 360°-Projekten und Appentwicklung begonnen. 2016 hat sich Tim dazu entschlossen, sich ausschließlich den immersiven Medien zu verschreiben und produziert seither Virtual-Reality-, Augmented-Reality- und 360°-Projekte im Auftrag von Firmen und in Eigenregie.

David Tree

David is a Research fellow with a background in architectural visualisation  he brings a combination of software developer and digital artist to the Games and Visual Effects Research Lab at the University of Hertfordshire.  Under the Interreg North Sea Region: Create Converge project He leads the development of immersive content prototypes in collaboration with subject specialists ranging from choreographers to quantum physicists, aiding them in the quest to seek greater engagement through the application of Immersive technologies.  In addition to his work on developing prototypes, he is working on the production of an interactive map of the NSR’s Immersive sector through the application a custom scraping and refinement toolkit.
