Since 2017, the nextReality.Contest has provided a platform for outstanding and innovative projects in the fields of Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality.<\/p>\n

In 2026, we celebrate our 10th anniversary.<\/p>\n

Over the past decade, more than 800 projects have been submitted and over 70 have been awarded \u2013 a visible testament to the dynamism and innovative strength of the XR industry in the German-speaking region.<\/p>\n

Each year, we invite visionaries, developers, and creatives from across the DACH region to submit their ideas, products, and applications. An independent, interdisciplinary jury evaluates the submissions and honors projects that set new standards for immersive media and future technologies.<\/p>\n

As one of the leading XR awards in the German-speaking world, the nextReality.Contest continues to evolve alongside the industry. For the past three years, the category International Production<\/em> has opened the competition to groundbreaking XR projects from around the globe.<\/p>\n

The contest remains in motion: categories are refined and formats continuously rethought. In 2024, the category Best Technology<\/em> was discontinued \u2013 technological innovations now find their place within the existing categories.<\/p>\n

As part of the nextReality.festival on November 18 and 19 in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt<\/strong>, you will have the opportunity to showcase your XR applications to the public. In addition to the award ceremony<\/strong>, the festival features an interactive exhibition<\/strong>, insightful talks and panels<\/strong>, and diverse networking opportunities<\/strong> with experts from the XR industry.<\/p>\n
